Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Ocean Lakes Site T21 3bdrm\/2ba Beautiful professionally decorated home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If not, email or call the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you crave, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
