How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. The view of Haven!\n\n has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
