Tips to get the perfect rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Third-floor oceanfront studio with pool, AC, & free breakfast has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
