Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
Finding your best deal:
- To find the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First, have your family decide on the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Tranquility Ninth Floor: Spacious Oceanfront Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
