Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Updated King Suite with stunning Oceanfront Views! Sandcastle 1119 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
