Our top Vacation rental home tips:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfectrental home:
- Start by having your group select vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Water Front Wonderland Myrtle Beach Pets Welcome! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your invoice.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
