Our top Rental home tips:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Water Front Wonderland Myrtle Beach Pets Welcome! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
