Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Wyndham SeaWatch
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
