How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- To start, have your group select vacation dates and a budget.
- Five 2BR\/2BA Suites has 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If not, call the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
