Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Choosing the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your group decide on a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Wyndham SeaWatch
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
