How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

How to select the best vacation home:

  • To start, have your group agree to the best dates and a max budget.
  • Two 2BR\/2BA Suites has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
