How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. New Oceanfront, High Floor, Landmark Resort,Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your contract.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
