Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Newly Remodeled Queen Suite - 204 Meridian Plaza has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
