Tips to get the very best rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning and picking the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront 3 BR Condo BF Paradise 8th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
