Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Seaside Tranquility Stunning Views 4th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
