Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. 10th-floor partial ocean-view snowbird-friendly condo with W\/D & AC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Know before you go:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
