Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Finding the best vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 11th-floor, oceanfront snowbird-friendly studio w\/ WiFi, pool\/hot tub, AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
