How to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 12th floor, newly renovated ocean-view studio with AC, pool & hot tub access & WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
