Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking the bestrental home:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 12th floor, newly renovated ocean-view studio with AC, pool & hot tub access & WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your invoice.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
