Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront King Suite with Sofa~Landmark 830 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
