Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Choosing and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. 2- Bedroom OceanView Condo at Marriott OceanWatch Villas week in MAY 2023 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you crave, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
