Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 3rd-floor condo with balcony, hot tub, pools, gym & lazy river has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
