Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • To get the best rental for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Choose dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean Lakes site 6028 5bed 3 bath on the lake has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
