Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- To book the best rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick the bestvacation home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Sun and Sand Queen Efficiency 14th Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
