Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Start by having your group decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sun and Sand Queen Efficiency 14th Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
