Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 9th Floor Oceanfront Snowbird Friendly Studio w\/ WiFi, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub, W\/D has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
