Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Beautifully Renovated Condo- LED Fireplace and more- Palace 1503 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
