Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking your Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Beautiful condo next to the pool on Shore Drive AD 8-229 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If not, call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your contract.

More tips for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
