Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ground Floor Golf Course Views Pool and Gym has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
