Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and choosing your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ground Floor Golf Course Views Pool and Gym has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
