Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose and book a perfectrental:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. BRIGADUNE 3 BR -- \"BEACHY\" has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
