How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Fabulous Ocean Front Suite at Sands Ocean Club has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the host before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
