Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Fabulous Penthouse at Sands Ocean Club- Shore Dr. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
