Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Planning and choosing yourvacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Gorgeous Ocean Views Patio Oasis (By Beach Star) has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
