How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local shops and restaurants.
Choosing the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Hideaway at the Beach: 3 Bedroom Condo 18th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
