Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your group decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Huge 2 Bed\/2 Bath at AAA Four Diamond Resort by Luxury Beach Rentals has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
