How to book the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. OCEANFRONT 2BR 2BA WASHER\/DRYER IN UNIT, WIFI has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
