Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and pick your Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • First, have your group select date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 3BR\/3BA Oceanfront Corner unit On Boardwalk has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
