Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Luxury Ocean Front 3 Bedroom Condominium on dead end Shore Drive has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. message the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
