Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and pick the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. MUST SEE!! M57 NEWLY RENOVATED - Steps Away From Ocean, Pool, Grill, Store has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
