How to find the best vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First, have your family commit to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean Front - Marriott's OceanWatch Villas - Upscale Resort Villa On The Beach! Spacious! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your family.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
