Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best vacation home:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Fresh 4th Floor, Ocean View, Heated Pools, 2024! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
