Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- To get the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best vacation rental:

Advice for your stay:

- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective.
