Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have discounts for local shops and restaurants.
Finding the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Pet-Friendly Ocean Front Condo-Balcony -Overlooking Ocean has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
