Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. New Double Queen Suite at Caravelle Resort, Views! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
