Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. WestHydePark Villa@Kingston Plantation-Updated3\/BR(Sleeps 8) Open Floor Plan has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Advice for a great stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
