Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking yourvacation home:
- To start, have your group commit to trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Large 3 bdrm end unit w\/ Oceanviews - by Luxury Beach Rentals! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
