How to get the best rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

How to pick the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Pelican's Watch Unit 102 - Oceanfront has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

Have a great stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
