Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and picking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To start, have your group select date ranges and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Lure of the Lakes #6026 has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
