Strategies to get the best rental home experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Newly Remodeled! 5 STAR Beach Condo has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
