Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and picking yourrental home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Newly Renovated, 2 BR\/2 Bath Resort Atmosphere, Shopping and Entertainment has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
Tips for a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
