Tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Finding the best value:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ninth Floor Oceanfront Snowbird Friendly Retreat w\/ WiFi, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
