Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Ninth Floor Oceanfront Snowbird Friendly Retreat w\/ WiFi, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
