Rental home tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental value:
- To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Ocean Lakes -'Beautiful Lakefront Home' Site MH-09A has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
