Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Ocean Lakes -'Beautiful Lakefront Home' Site MH-09A has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
