Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 7 Bedrooms and Ocean Views from your Living Room!! has 7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
